Soil stabilisation and erosion control was also required due to the numerous batters and the effect of rain on these over recent months and rain predicted during the development. Hence, dust suppression was required at this site for the reduction of access road dust generation and dust generated from wind exposure on the broad acre areas and stockpiles. Soil stabilisation and erosion control was a requirement for the site’s batters.
Vital Chemical provided a site assessment of the vehicle access roads (heavy and moderate), broad acre, stockpiles and batters. Vital Bon-Matt P47-VR1 was recommended for application due to the broad acre area, stockpiles and batters. Vital Bon-Matt RDS (S72) was recommended for the sites vehicle access roads and hard stand areas.
Vital Chemical applied Vital Bon-Matt P47-VR1 employing the Vital Chemical Water Tanker onsite. Vital Bon-Matt P47-VR1 was applied at a dilution ratio of 10:1 (water to P47-VR1) to all areas as per recommendation. Vital Bon-Matt RDS (S72) was applied to high traffic areas around the office and entrance to the site, vehicle access roads and hard stand areas.
Enabled the site to achieve significant dust emission levels from their broad acre areas and stockpiles. The treated batters were successful in providing optimum soil stabilisation and erosion control. Vital Bon-Matt RDS (S72) applications to the vehicle access roads and hard stand areas also reduced dust emissions significantly and provided increased visibility on site and improved air quality for neighbouring residents. The company is now replicating this dust management program at similar sites in Victoria.
