The Vital Link Series:

Vital Chemical has a wide range of environmentally sound corrosion inhibitors that possess high temperature-resistance with excellent film forming characteristics for specific acid applications.

The Vital Link Series of Corrosion Inhibitors are an environmentally sound, superior and powerful series of corrosion inhibitors. The Vital Link Series of Corrosion Inhibitors are specifically designed for sulphuric acid and hydrochloric acid corrosion experienced in the Heat Exchange (HEX) refinery processes.

The Vital Alkali Inhibitor Series:

During routine acid cleaning of heat exchangers in the Bayer process, inhibited acid removes the scale attached to internal surface of the tubes and also removes any passive film, leaving the metal surface in an active state.

Under these conditions, severe corrosion problems may occur if the active surface is exposed to normal operation conditions of the Bayer liquor at high temperatures and flow velocities.

Vital Chemical is currently developing a new and innovative range of alkali inhibitors - the Vital Alkali Inhibitor Series - to significantly minimise the corrosion damage during this "transient" stage from acid to Bayer liquor by creating a strong passivating film on the active metal surface prior to the harsh conditions of exposure.

Vital Chemical has worked in close association with renowned testing authorities and international refinery clients to research and develop the Vital Alkali Inhibitor Series.

Vital Chemical formulated the Vital Alkali Inhibitor Series to specifically assist with this matter and consequently reduce production and labour costs.

Comprehensive and conclusive testing and analysis have been performed by departments of chemical engineering at leading Australian Universities and research centres.
